Inversions in Urban Density Gradients: A Brief Look at the Vancouver Metropolitan Area's Density ProfileSchool of Urban and Regional Planning at the Queen's University, Kingston, Canada This paper presents an estimate of the Vancouver metropolitan area's density profile to show the presence of density gradient inversions. A number of explanations for the inversions are offered and the policy implications of the explanations are briefly discussed.
