Different spatial frames of reference are used: intra-metropolitan, intra-regional, and national. The results suggest an interdependence of migration and commuting with the decentralisation of employment within Greater London. Migration is influenced by tenure structure and turnover in the existing housing stock as well as by the availability of new housing.
